New Year, New Crunk!

It's the second day of a new decade and there's plenty of changes on the horizon for Mama C's!! We just finished up with a year that was a roller-coaster of transitions and we're moving towards a couple more that will hopefully lead to success and stability!


When we last caught up with you, we let y'all know about our move from St. Elmo to Brainerd and us setting up our commercial kitchen in The Countdown Building (3210 Brainerd Rd....get it?). After enjoying a tremendously busy Thanksgiving and holiday season (thanks to you loyal customers, we TRIPLED our sales from years prior!!!), we've been ruminating over the next year and getting all our ducks in a row so that we can better serve you. 


So without further ado, we wanted to let you know about some of the exciting plans we've got in store!!!


1) A Storefront Is Still Coming!!

We've been saying this for months and though plans for the bakery retail storefront/cafe of our dreams haven't happened as quickly we wished, we're certain that slow and steady wins the race and things will be coming together sometime during 2020. We're working hard to give y'all a place where you can get a slice of pie anytime you like as well as comfort food all throughout the week. Location and opening TBD, but please trust we will keep you all up-to-date.


2) We're Expanding the Brand

We've hinted this and you've probably gathered this from ordering off our holiday menus with more diverse entree and sides, but we are deciding to make more than just pies (although yes, you will always be able to get pies from us in perpetuity). Our love of pie-making stems from our love of comfort food, so we're broadening the scope of that love and making more of that comfort food for more occasions. With this in mind, we're going to be rolling out our new name and branding in the next few weeks. That's right, folks, the Artists Formerly Known as Mama Crunk's Pies will be henceforth known as....Mama Crunk's Kitchen. 'Cuz you know, we still gotta stay Crunk.


If you haven't already, check out our everyday catering menu for some specific catering packages or contact us to inquire about more custom catering that suit your needs!


Beyond what you can order online, we will be offering rotating weekly meals with both omni and vegan options that you can order thru email. These will be available for pickup at The Countdown Building during our weekly "pop-up" hours which we'll be discussing further in like....the next section. So right now. Yes, keep reading.


3) Weekly Retail Hours

In the efforts to provide our wonderful customers with delicious food on a more consistent basis while we work towards a storefront, we are focusing our hours and our pick-up days to two days a week, Friday and Saturday from 10AM-5:30PM. 


What these "pop-up" hours mean for you is that you'll be able to place your online orders for the week by Wednesday and pick them up at our commercial kitchen at The Countdown Friday and Saturday. We also will post our rotating weekly pie and meal specials every Friday before so you can peruse all the tasty treats we're offering before you order. We'll even have a few extras for people who just want to stop in and see what we've got every week.


4) We've Got Sooo Many Fun Events Planned

There's nothing we love more than interacting with the community. I'm sure you'll see us around town as we like to pop up at local markets and different events, but we're excited to host some events as well.


In addition to rolling out some baking workshops, the first of which is just a few weeks away (you should totally RSVP and get a tix if you love decorative breads here), we're really excited to start planning our mega super fun bakery competition "The Great Crunky Bakeoff"



We're still in planning stages, but we are aiming for an event in the spring. We can't wait to bring some of Chattanooga's best bakers in a race to see who can make the best pie! If you have any questions about participating, please email us at mamacrunkspies@gmail.com!
