Six or so months have passed since my last blog post, meaning it's keeping in tradition to update it right about now, ha! No seriously, it's typically business as usual here at Mama Crunk's, so it's hard to update the blog with any news. Well after months of planning, we finally get to announce a big ol' meatball of news: WE WILL FINALLY HAVE A BRICK AND MORTAR ADDRESS!!!!!
Obviously, this announcement comes a few months before our lil storefront's opening, but obviously we want you to be excited. This project has been a long time coming and we couldn't even consider it without the help of our friends at Plus Coffee, who are graciously including us in the expansion of their current space in St. Elmo.
This expansion will not only be an extension of Plus Coffee's space, but also a new concept called Common General, which will not only be a space for socializing and special events, but a "general store" that will feature local products from awesome Chattanooga makers like Belle Chocolates (whose chocolates we use in our pies and they are, dare we say, PHENOMENAL) and yours truly ;) That's right, not only will the kitchen in Common General/Plus be our official home, but we will have a big case there to find our pies in every day! No more sturggling to figure out where to pick them up, although we will be always grateful to Signal Centers (a fantastic local non-profit for children and adults with disabilities) for being our first commissary kitchen and first local pick-up spot.
We're keeping ourselves busy while we wait for the build-out, though. We're still endlessly rolling dough since we've always got pop-ups going on, not to mention our pies popping up in new locations! If you missed it, we've introduced our vegan line of pies a few months ago (THAT'S RIGHT, VEGAN!!), and since then, you can find those pies at Weekly Fig and the fabulous vegan restaurant, Cashew in North Shore. Yes, I know it took us awhile to bring you some vegan goodies, but we were pretty dedicated to coming up with some perfectly tasty recipes, so I hope it was worth the wait.
Speaking of those vegan pies, our next pop-up will be vegan-centered and focused on one of our very favorite things in life: brunch. We're teaming up with local business Your Local Seitanist (which has our vote for favorite business name EVER) to bring you a delicious brunch experience that vegans will love (and non-vegans won't even care is vegan) at the gorgeous local tea shop, Wildflower Tea Shop & Apothecary.

Come hang with us on August 5th, 12 to 4pm, which will also be Wildflower's anniversary day! Find the event details here.
So as you can tell, we've got a lot going on to keep us busy during the rest of the summer, into the fall! That never stops us though! We want to hear from you! What would you like to see Mama Crunk's do? In terms of pop-ups, pie flavors, anything?? Our favorite thing about our business is participating in community-oriented things that make our customers happy, so let us know!! Email us, message us, we always love hearing from you <3
Til next time, folks (and hopefully not six months from now, ha)!
